Once in a Night

What we’re going to talk about pertains to all casino games. What I call the “once in a night” bet. For those veteran gamblers, we know that most times gambling is nothing more than a long give and take from table to table. Whether it is craps, blackjack or baccarat, 80 percent of the time we find ourselves not winning a lot at each table and not losing a lot at each table. It’s what I call the “tug of war” between the casino and the player. If we follow departure rules for black jack, craps and baccarat, we should be able to survive this battle without suffering big losses to our buy in.

I don’t care what game you are playing This give and take or turf of war is the basic rhythm of gambling, with the majority of the times the casino finding itself slightly ahead.

Then what’s the point of gambling, you ask? If most of the time all we do is win then lose, where are the consistent wins? The answer: in our big bets and don’t ever forget it.

In the long run, you will not win at any casino game unless you win those big bets. It is these big wins that win the tug of war with the casino. There’s the difference and you must have the patience and guts to make them. Otherwise, the small wins and losses will eat you up over the long run and throughout a session.

Consequently, the concept of “once a night.” When I gamble, I know that most of my play is waiting for the chance to win that big bet. Like a hunter searching for its prey, I sit patiently looking for that bet to appear. From my experience, at least once a night or once a session a player has the chance of winning the big bet. Don’t let it pass you by. This is the only opportunity you have of wining the tug of war with the casinos and making you a consistent winner in the long run. Don’t be fooled with the little wins and losses from table to table. These bets only keep you in the game for the big runs. The runs where you win 10, 20 or 30 units at a time are the runs that keep you ahead of the casino.

But please, always remember, you cannot be over anxious and force this big bet. You must have the “aggressive patience” to wait, then strike when the tables call for it. If you do, then you will be pleasantly surprised that at least “once a night” your big bet will arrive. Till next time.
