It’s true that 25-cent units don’t sound like a lot to begin with. However, let me give you an example of the ENORMOUS POTENTIAL we are talking about here with BVP.
When we’re playing video poker we will always be betting a maximum of five coins, or “credits.”* On five-coin machines this max bet of five units allows you to receive the full payout on a royal flush if Lady Luck smiles upon you. If you are a novice at video poker, here is the way you play the game:
- All video poker machines are based on five card draw poker. In order to win the top jackpots you should always play the maximum of five coins, or "credits." You will win nowhere near the machine’s payback potential if you play anything less.
- After you put in your money you will be dealt five cards. You can choose to discard all five if you wish or keep as many as you like. You keep the cards you want by pushing the "HOLD" button beneath each card. You can change your decision anytime before you press the "DRAW/DEAL" button. Once you press that button you will be dealt new cards to replace the cards you discarded. The BVP strategy will tell you exactly what to do. This second round of cards produces your final hand. That’s it as far as playing the game goes.
THE BVP STRATEGY WILL TELL YOU
EXACTLY WHAT TO DO.
There have been many variations of video poker since the game was first introduced. There are, however, two general categories of video poker machines: Non-Progressive and Progressive.
NON-PROGRESSIVE OR STRAIGHT MACHINE:
These machines offer pre-established payoffs on all winning hands. The more coins played per hand, the larger will be your payoffs in proportion. For example, a winning payoff on two coins is exactly double that of playing one coin.
The one exception is when you win a ROYAL FLUSH. Playing one coin on a royal flush might payout 200 coins. Playing two coins you might win 400. Three coins, 600. Four coins, 800. Playing max five coins, however, you can win a 4,000 coin return. Remember, you should always play five coins.
PROGRESSIVE MACHINES:
These video poker games differ from the non-progressive machines when you hit a royal flush with five coins. The payoff is not a standard amount but is based on a progressive jackpot total that increases until the royal is hit. It then starts over at a base amount.
Progressive jackpots are exciting and can easily soar to over $2,000. However, we repeat, it is still crucial to winning play that you bet the five-coin max.
